Barbara Matic was the only Croatian judoka in Rio2016 but the Croatian judo talents are booming. Especially the women with Barbara Matic, Brigita Matic, Tena Sikic, Maja Blagojevic, Karla Prodan, Tihea Topolovec, but also Zlatko Kumric. In London 2012 Marijana Miskovic and Tomislav Marijanovic represented Hrvatska Judo in London at the Olympic Games. Ivana Maranic and Ivana Sutalo also fought at the World Championships. The Croatian judo federation organised various European Cadet and Junior Championships and each year the Grand Slam of Zagreb. Barbara Matic became the first World Champion of Croatia in 2021.
