Cuban judoka Andy Granda became the world champion in 2022 in Tashkent as first male Cuban since 2013. Andy captured bronze at the Grand Prix in Antalya in 2018. He clinched a bronze medal at the Pan American Championship in 2019 in Lima and gold medal in 2022 in Lima. He took a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Paris in 2020. He took bronze at the Grand Slam in Antalya in 2022. He secured a silver medal at the Grand Prix Upper Austria in Linz in 2024. He captured a bronze medal at Grand Slam Tbilisi in 2023. He took the gold medal at the Pan American Open in Guayaquil in July 2023.
