Technical judo and good competition at German U21 Championships

This weekend the German U21 Championships were traditionally held in Frankfurt Oder. New talents showed their capabilities to the national coaches and some young cadets talents showed that they could compete with the junior age category. Youngster Niels Blagnies won the Cadet title last week and was now crowned as German champion U21.

Moritz Plafky, Lara Reimann, Giovanna Scoccimarro and Leon Philipp prolonged the German U21 titles. Some categories showed an amazing competition and reached an international level. Technically sovereign struggled Anna-Maria Wagner of KJC Ravensburg through the tournament U78kg. With good ground work and successful techniques she claimed her first Junior title. Also finalist Christina Faber of Judo Club Wiesbaden is a sensation. National Coach Claudio Pusa: "Christina Faber breathes new life into the weight class. She is mentally strong and are on the mat gas ", Pusa analysed the young German champion U18 of last week who reached the final. In overall view, the conclusion of the national coach is positive. "The fighters have worked hard and made a step forward in the mental area and they show great ground work. Especially sankaku and strangling techniques have worked well today. I look in almost all weight classes positively to the international season, " Pusa concluded.

The name Johannes Frey also rings a bell U100kg, he is the younger brother of Karl-Richard Frey, so a great outlook for future championships this possible brother rivalry.
