Alexander Mikhailin is definitely back in the team. The Russian triple World Champion and Olympic silver medallist in London recently won his eleventh Russian title and expected an invitation for the national team.

Mikhailin announced: “Dear friends, with the team all the issues were resolved, I am a member of the Russian national judo team, ahead of the Tokyo Grand Slam and the next Olympic cycle. Many thanks to all who supported me and were worried about me”

The 37-year old athlete who retired in 2014 came back after he was disappointed in the follow up of his position and won the national title in absence of the considered top athletes. Hopefully Mikhailin will get some events soon and we can enjoy another interesting battle in the Russian team.
