Former African Championships bronze medallist Diassonema Mucungui returns for a second World Championships campaign after debuting at Budapest 2017. Mucungui produced a respectable performance in Hungary. Diassonema clinched a bronze medal at the African Championships in Cape Town in 2019. She claimed a bronze medal at the African Games in Rabat in 2019. She captured the gold medal at the African Open in Yaounde in 2022 and gold in Dakar. She secured s bronze medal at the African Open in Tunis in 2023. She triumphed at the African Open in Luanda in 2023.
