After his career Jean-Claude Djimbi of Gabon became an IJF Referee and he officiated at the major IJF World tour events. he was the first non European referee to be invited to officiate the 2022 European Championships in Prague. Djimbi officiated at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo as well as various World Championships in all age categories.
