Brazilian judoka Beatriz Souza became the third female Olympic Champion for Brazil at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. She took a silver medal at the World Championships in Tashkent in 2022 and bronze at the 2023 Worlds in Doha. She took the bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in Zagreb in 2017 and silver in 2018. She won bronze at the World Cadets in 2015. Souza took gold at the Pan American Championships in Guadalajara in 2021 and 2022 in Lima and 2024 in Rio. She triumphed at the Grand Slam Baku in 2023. She claimed the gold medal at the Grand Prix Upper Austria in Linz in 2024
