Judoka Davlat Bobonov of Uzbekistan became the 2022 World Champion at home in Tashkent. He became world silver medallist in 2021 in Budapest. Bobonov finished with bronze at the 2020 Olympic Games. He took gold at the Grand Slam in Düsseldorf in 2020. He won the IJF Grand Prix in Tashkent in 2016. He claimed a silver medal at the Grand Slam of Osaka in 2019. He bagged a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Paris in 2022 and secured a silver medal at the Grand Slam in Ulaanbaatar in 2022. He bagged a bronze medal at the 2023 IJF World Masters in Budapest.
